About the Awards

The Sustainability Leadership Awards celebrate leaders within the UN Global Compact Network Singapore (UNGCNS) community who are driving meaningful corporate sustainability transformation, not just in their organisations, but across industries and value chains. Beyond recognition, the Awards serve as a strategic platform to identify and elevate executives advancing the next phase of business leadership in ASEAN. Winners join the broader UNGCNS leadership ecosystem, contributing to regional dialogues, industry working groups, and multi-stakeholder convenings.

Regional Stage Recognition

Nomination Criteria

These awards are open exclusively to UN Global Compact Network Singapore member companies, in recognition of leaders who are driving corporate sustainability in alignment with the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact and advancing the Global Goals.

C-suite Leaders

Visible recognition that goes beyond the Awards ceremony. Winners receive a Leadership Spotlight Article published across UNGCNS channels, so the impact reaches well past one evening.

UNGCNS Member

Nominees must be currently employed by a company that has signed on to Global Compact Network Singapore.

No Self-Nominations

Self-nominations are not accepted. Nominations must not be submitted by the person being nominated.

Nomination Process

Submit your Nomination

Complete the nomination form by 9 September 2026. Provide specific examples of your leader's actions and the measurable impact they have achieved.

Secretariat Review

The UNGCNS Secretariat screens all submissions for eligibility and shortlists 3–5 finalists per category based on impact clarity, leadership signal, and story strength.

Panel Vote

Shortlisted finalists are reviewed by the UNGCNS Management Committee, who vote to select winners. Finalists are notified ahead of the Gala.

Recognition at Gala

Winners are announced and celebrated at the UNGCNS Charity Gala Dinner on 4 November 2026, with on-stage citations and a leadership spotlight feature.

Nominations are assessed across three lenses: clarity of sustainability impact achieved, strength of C-suite leadership demonstrated, and overall story strength and influence within or beyond the organization.

  • Implementation of credible decarbonisation strategies and targets

  • Integration of climate considerations into business operations and risk management

  • Transparency in climate-related disclosures and reporting

  • Leadership in advancing climate action across value chains or ecosystems
  • Leadership in building inclusive, fair, and future-ready workforce strategies

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Each member organisation may submit one nomination in total, across all four categories. This is deliberate to give every member company a fair chance at recognition rather than concentrating nominations with a few large organisations.
No, nominating is free. We encourage participating member companies to support the evening by purchasing a table at the UNGCNS Charity Gala Dinner, where the Awards will be presented.
Each table is SGD 6,000 and seats 10 guests. Your purchase of a dinner table qualifies for a 250% tax deduction on the full amount.
Table proceeds support UNGCNS’ Youth Sustainability Initiatives. UNGCNS is registered as an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) in Singapore.
Attending means being in the room for the announcement itself, celebrating your leader’s win alongside industry peers, supporting the next generation of sustainability leaders through our Youth Sustainability Initiatives, and connecting with senior decision-makers across Singapore’s sustainability community.
No. All finalists undergo fact-checking ahead of the Gala, so we can prepare on-stage citations and spotlight articles for whoever wins in each category. The results itself remains confidential until the public announcement, which takes place live during the Awards segment of the Gala Dinner.

C-suite leaders (e.g. CEO, CFO, COO, CHRO, CSO) currently employed at a UNGCNS Signatory organisation. Self-nominations are not accepted; nominations must be submitted by a colleague within the same organisation, or by a third party (e.g. a partner, client, or industry peer) familiar with the nominee’s work. For third-party nominations, the nominee’s organisation will be notified once the nomination is received, to confirm awareness and secure the necessary information for fact-checking should the nominee be shortlisted.
Four: Climate & Resilience Leadership, Social Impact & Just Transition Leadership, Sustainable Value Chain Leadership, and Sustainable Finance Leadership.
Just the nomination itself. Include specific examples of your leader’s actions and the measurable impact they’ve achieved, as this is what the Secretariat and judging panel use to assess each submission.
Between 3 and 5 per category, depending on the quality of nominations received. Not every shortlisted finalist will necessarily receive an award.
The UNGCNS Secretariat first checks eligibility and completeness, then shortlists 6–10 finalists per category. The Management Committee reviews each finalist’s summary and votes to select 3–5 award recipients per category, depending on the quality of nominations received.
A Leadership Spotlight feature article, on-stage recognition and citation during the Gala’s Awards segment, and inclusion in UNGCNS’ broader leadership ecosystem for future dialogues and convenings.
